Be willing to start slow. Learn how to throw mids and putters at different angles, then move up to the faster discs. Find players who are better than you and watch them throw. Seeing the lines and throws they make (or try to) can open your eyes to more possibilities.
This is a tie between my first Tourney win and a case of mistaken identity. The first tourney win was also my first tourney. I didn't play particularly well, but I did enough to tie a local player. On the first playoff hole I parked my tee shot, and then nervously hit a 10' putt to win it. The mistaken identity was a couple of years ago at an Ace Race. I had a younger player ask me if I was Eric McCabe after I threw a disc.
Good question, I think all of the Teams out there are working to grow the sport, but I really enjoy the focus that Dynamic puts on it. I get to hear stories all the time from Team members who are giving away discs, or promoting events. When one of the top Team members is out striping courses before events, you know there is a commitment to making a positive impact.
