Disc Golf Plastics
When we say we have disc golf covered, we mean we've thought about all the ways you can improve your performance, no matter your skill level. Since partnering with Latitude 64 in 2012, Dynamic Discs has released a series of innovative disc golf designs to help you improve your game. Intertwining with this aspect are multiple plastics that deliver a specific feel.
Understanding Disc Golf Plastics
Advanced and tournament disc golf players will wax on about the different types of plastics out there, going into their various benefits and drawbacks. To start with, disc golf plastic type varies by quality, influencing your grip and its durability out on the course.
In working with Latitude 64 to develop our discs, we factor in the following:
- The degree of grippiness the disc will offer, including in wet and cold conditions.
- Durability and impact resistance on rough terrain and in hot and cold weather.
- How flexible the disc will feel, including in hot and cold conditions.
- Strength and durability in relation to flight characteristics.
Disc golf plastics, including from Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, and Westside Discs, fall into the following groupings within this spectrum:
- High-quality and cost-effective plastics: These disc golf plastics tend to be geared toward beginners and those getting into the game. While lower in cost, these plastics tend to offer a strong grip. But you'll find that, out on the course, they show wear sooner and may lose some of their flight characteristics as a result. Yet, they offer a reliable starting spot, help you get a feel for the game, and provide a segue into more stronger plastic types.
- Premium plastics: Not all premium disc golf plastics are identical. However, they maintain a grippy feel, smoothing out the transition for beginner players improving their skills, and they offer a greater degree of impact resistance too. This last point means that the disc's flight characteristics stay unchanged for longer, allowing you to get more use out of it. As well, premium disc golf plastic materials are the foundation for discs specifically created to handle and remain flexible in hot, cold, or windy conditions.
On this last note, as you improve your skills, consider experimenting with different types of golf discs for grip and flight characteristics to see what works for you.

MSRP: $23.99
Moonshine is made from the same durable plastic as Opto but with added glow material. The Opto Line plastic has been developed to withstand severe punishment and extreme conditions better than other plastics.
MSRP: $23.99
Moonshine is made from the same durable plastic as VIP but with added glow material. The VIP plastic has been developed to withstand severe punishment and extreme conditions better than other plastics.
MSRP: $23.99
Fuzion combines the durability of Lucid with an advanced polymer to form a non-transparent blend of plastic. This plastic also provides players with additional grip.
MSRP: $19.99
Gold Line is Latitude 64's premium blend plastic. The start of the mix has been the same brand plastics used in Opto Line but they added a different polymer to give it better grip without losing the excellent durability of Opto Line.
MSRP: $19.99
An advanced version of VIP-plastic that contains technical polymers. You cannot see through Tournament plastic. The durability of Tournament plastic is at the same level than VIP Plastic, but the Tournament's grip is slightly better. Our Tournament plastic is closely similar to Latitude Gold Line plastic.
MSRP: $19.99
The perfect combination of polymers produce some of the most beautiful and durable plastic in disc golf. This translucent blend can take a beating and maintain the original flight characteristics of the disc for many rounds of disc golf.
MSRP: $19.99
Opto Line is made out of some of the world's most durable plastics. It comes in a variety of beautiful translucent colors. The Opto Line plastic has been developed to withstand severe punishment and extreme conditions better than other plastics.
MSRP: $19.99
Super-durable hi-tech plastic with excellent performance. VIP plastic is transparent so you can see through it. Discs made in VIP-plastic maintain their flight characteristics and reliability for a long time. This plastic is suitable to both recreational players and pro players. Latitude Opto-plastic is more than 98% similar to Westside VIP-plastic.
MSRP: $19.99
Lucid Air uses the same material as our durable Lucid plastic. It has solid plastic at the top and bottom of the rim to protect the microbubbles in the plastic on impact. These microbubbles actually make the disc lighter. They are spread out through the top of the disc and middle of the rim to keep the weight distribution nearly identical to Lucid and Fuzion discs.
MSRP: $19.99
Opto Air uses the same material as our durable Opto Line plastic. It is modified and the runs are done in a different way to achieve a stunning result of lighter weight discs that still has a layer of solid plastic at the tip and bottom of the rim to protect the alternated material that is mostly centered in the middle of the rim but also spread out slightly over the top of the discs to keep the weight distribution as close as possible to the Opto and Gold Line discs.
MSRP: $19.99
The Air Technology allows Westside Discs to lower the weight on both the flight plate and the rim. In the rim, effort has been put into guiding the majority of Air towards the center. This is done to give better impact resistance to the edge and bottom of the rim. As always lighter weights means a little bit less stability in the wind so expect the Air models to behave accordingly.
MSRP: $19.99
This plastic, in regular conditions, will have a flexible quality and superb grip. When the temperature dips, this blend will retain more flexibility than any other premium plastics we offer. This will translate to better grip and more control when your hands are cold and your grip is compromised. During spring and summer temperatures this disc is perfect for the throwers that like some flex in their disc. These discs will fly with the same consistency and predictability that you are used to from Dynamic Discs.
MSRP: $19.99
Frost Line is Latitude 64's newest addition to their high quality lines of plastic. They have worked hard to develop a plastic that feels good in the hand, has flexibility, durability, and maintains its shape in all conditions. Frost Line is very similar to their Opto Line, but with a higher flexibility and stickier grip. Creating a plastic that is flexible yet durable was a challenge that their mad scientists in Sweden have now conquered. Frost will maintain its shape in cold weather and doesn't melt in your hand on a sunny day.
MSRP: $19.99
Elasto plastic is transparent and flexible plastic that is also good in cold climate conditions.
MSRP: $19.99

This reduces unnecessary waste and lowers disc golf’s carbon footprint.

The mid 80s was a great time. Disc Golf had just come all the way up to Latitude 64 and we played all through the night in the midnight sun. Translucent discs were far from being invented and all discs were understable with today's standards. We remember those days with nostalgic feelings and wanted a plastic that would remind us of how it used to be. For a long time we have had requests that we should make discs that could be broken in more easily. Test after test after test led us to this new plastic blend that we have named Retro.
MSRP: $11.99
Grip. That was the intention. Make a plastic that feels great and is easy to throw. Origio is that solution. In the same way that Prime for Dynamic Discs and Retro for Latitude 64 brought this incredible plastic to their line of discs, Origio now makes your favorite Westside discs feel that much better.
